| Laingholm Fire Police |
Laingholm Fire Police have been an integral part of the brigade since its formation back in 1955. Their role became even more important in 1999 when the brigade began accepting
first response medical calls from St John Ambulance. All Laingholm Fire Police members are medical responders and their role is supplemented by a number of the brigade's firefighters who are also qualified to handle these incidents. Laingholm's three female and three male Fire Police constables perform the full range of Fire Police duties and also carry out fire safety programmes such as fitting smoke alarms. The brigade's medical response van, Laingholm 7033, doubles as a fire police vehicle. It was previously an ambulance with the Kakogawa Fire Department in Japan and was donated as part of a sister city arrangement through Waitakere City. Fire police also assist in the crewing of the brigade's John Deere Gator all terrain vehicle which was bought with a
donation from West Auckland Trusts.
