| Rotorua Operational Support |
The Rotorua Operational Support unit was set up in 2000 after a need was seen to support the Rotorua station Career Fire Fighters. Since then they have grown in numbers and calls and get busier every year. The unit covers the Rotorua fire district area, as well as Ngongotaha and Mamaku as their normal turnout area. They also travel to Taupo, Tokoroa, Putaruru and have been involved in both of the Eastern BOP Floods. Last year saw the unit attend 59 callouts, however the members have already responded to over 40 calls so far this year. The Rotorua Operational Support unit are currently looking to replace their response van which is getting on and is becoming too small for the area and workload they have got.
