| Ruakaka Fire Police |
The Ruakaka Volunteer Fire Brigade has been in existence since 1968. An integral part of the brigade is the Fire Police unit consisting of 5 members. The brigade's area of responsibility covers the sea side settlement of Ruakaka, approximately 25 minutes drive south of Whangarei. This fast growing area includes a burgeoning industrial site made up of a 3 berth port, Carter Holt Harvey LVL timber plant, oil refinery and other companies.
The unit is now the proud owner of a new van fully decked out with the latest gadgets to support the brigade's two appliances.
