The Te Awamutu Fire Support Unit have been active for over 60 years. The unit responds to every callout that the brigade receives, and have their own response vehicle - Te Awamutu 4519. The Fire Support train every week with the brigade. Te Awamutu, located on State Highway 3, has a population of about 9000 residents.
